2018: A Year In Review

Hello all, Happy New Years Eve! Can you believe we made it through another year already? 2018 literally flew right past. I can’t say it’s been a bad year nor can I say it’s been great either.

My Mental Health

I have come to the realization that there’s no quick cure for depression and anxiety. I still have my mood swings but I have learned to manage my feelings more effectively. I’ve been more open and expressive and I figured out what my triggers were and a lot has to do with my surroundings/environment and generally the things I consume myself with, most specifically, social media which I’m trying to pull away from. Also, I adapted healthy coping mechanisms like journaling, music therapy (I also had sessions with a professional therapist), and allowing myself to take more mental breaks & having self care days doing things I enjoy and not letting the stress of my job follow me home anymore.

This year I got comfortable with being alone which allowed me to build a lot of confidence. Physical fitness was one of the best therapies for me. The absolute only time my mind is completely clear and stress free is when I’m working out, it’s truly the most euphoric feeling ever! For 2019 I’m looking forward to consistent physical fitness and activities like yoga, kickboxing, healthy eating choices and trying out natural alternatives to antidepressant meds like hemp & CBD oil. I’m speaking my happiness into existence!

After the storm comes a rainbow.

Bad times don’t last forever.

Through every dark night, there is a brighter day.

My Social Life: Friendships & Relationships

Over the past four years since being diagnosed with depression, I lost a lot friends. I no longer have a best-friend or a big group of friends I can turn to or depend on. It’s pretty sad but some people are just temporary and are only meant to be in your life for a moment and not a lifetime. People grow apart and that’s ok.

The real ones will always stick around but in my case it was barely anyone that did, but at the same time did I put in any effort to keep them? Nope. I still pushed them all away by isolating myself . As I’ve grown overtime and have come to understanding my mental health issues I’m now open to friendship again.

The problem now is having to re-learn how the hell to make friends again after staying to myself for so long even though I’m a natural introvert. So, consequently my social life in 2018 was pretty much nonexistent due to the fact I was so focused on improving myself and staying busy with work and school this year. But, all year I’ve been dying for more fun and adventure in my life.

There were so many events I wanted to go to but I had no one to do them all with, so I lost out on a lot of experiences. Although, I’m still open to meeting new people I’m not letting the fact that I don’t have a lot of friends hold me back from going out and doing the things I want to do. If I have to go on solo missions, so be it.

Quality over quantity is most important when it comes to the people you have in your life.

God removes to replace.

As far as relationships goes, I’m still single and have been for quite some time now. I haven’t had a real adult relationship yet and I never had any desire to just jump into a relationship out of loneliness. During my singleness, I embraced being alone, I had a lot of time to fall in love with myself and shape myself into a great woman so that the right person will gravitate to me. It took me a long time and great heartache till I discovered my worth. I know what I deserve, I will never settle for less and I know exactly what I want now.

If my next relationship comes in 2019 or after.. I promise to keep it a PRIVATE relationship (not a secret relationship – there’s a difference) And no more wasting time in situation-ships. Also, I’m not making the mistake of sharing my relationship issues with other people ever again. People will know that we’re together but they will not know about our business. Peridot!

I want someone I can grow and build with, not someone who will hold me back. I am not perfect and I don’t expect them to be perfect, but I still have my standards & values and I hope they do too. I don’t need anyone to try to fix me because I’m not broken. I just want someone to love and support me while I work through things on my own. And vice versa, I’ll be there for them every step of the way to make sure they are succeeding and being the best person they can be..in openness, in love, in respect, honesty, trust & communication.

I’m ready.

My Career: Goals & Finance

Let’s just say, my money management skills was in fucking shambles this year. I would just spend, spend, spend and no investing or saving. Pay day would be Friday and I’d be broke and looking stupid by Monday. I set goals but ended up accomplishing three out of ten this year. I procrastinated and was scared of my own potential that I did nothing.

I learned the hard way that a goal without a plan is just a dream and that’s exactly what I did this year, dreamed and wished. I take full responsibility for not being ahead in my career goals. But, no more excuses! now that I’ve wallowed in my pity it’s time to actually make some changes and get my shit together.

2019 is all about being on my way to financial freedom, new beginnings, saving, budgeting and investing. Even if I have to sacrifice not going on any vacations this year in order to get out of debt, it will be so worth it. I’m going to stop sharing my goals, instead I’m going to just start doing more and saying less.

If you’re not happy with your situation, change it.

Things I’m Leaving Behind In 2018:

  1. Uncertain relationships
  2. Fear and self doubt
  3. Procrastination
  4. Poor money management skills
  5. Negativity – I’m not arguing with nobody and letting them disrupt my peace
  6. Internet Validation – no more making comparisons
  7. Painful childhood trauma – the past cannot be changed, I can only continue to heal.

How was 2018 for you? What did you accomplish or didn’t accomplish? What are you choosing to leave behind in 2018?

Peace & blessings!

Product Review: BoldenUSA

What is Bolden? Bolden is a skincare brand built by black women committed to making beauty products especially formulated for women of color. Bolden prides themselves on emboldening women and helping them to embrace their natural beauty, confidently. Their products are claimed to be paraben and sulfate free. So, after coming across such good reviews I was very eager to give their products a try and share my review. So far, I’ve been using Bolden products for about 12 weeks now.

My skin type is oily, breakout prone with hyperpigmentation.

boldenusa.com

1. Cost & shipping – 10/10

• Affordable and fast. I got the full skin care set for less than $100 ($88.50 to be exact). Mostly, each item in this set is under $20, which is a great rare deal! Shipping took the average time of a week.

2. Skin clarifying cleanser ($16.50) – 10/10

Product description: A gentle pH balanced formulation that addresses all key issues which contribute to dull, congested and breakout prone skin. Deep cleans, unclogs pores and prevents breakouts. Includes powerful antioxidants, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that renews & protects the skin.

I felt that this product was very gentle on the skin, not too drying, it lathers really well and it definitely unclogged my pores. Pleasant smell and my skin felt soft and fresh. Overall, I’m satisfied with this product and would reorder it.

3. Brightening glycolic acid toner ($19.50) – 5/10

Product description: Brighten dark spots, diminish lines, and improve skin texture and tone. Oil free moisture and calming botanicals. With the regular use, discoloration from acne, sun damage and aging is dramatically reduced.

I didn’t see any change in my hyperpigmentation but I felt like my skin texture was more smooth and it helped with oil control. I noticed a weird smell which kinda turned me off. Overall, I felt like this product was just OK so I don’t think I would re-order it.

4. Clear skin clay mask ($18.50) – 1.5/10

Product description: Eliminates excess oil, thoroughly cleans and closes pores, leaving skin clear and smooth. Sulfur kills bacteria that causes blemishes and sloughs off dead skin cells, preventing pore blockage. Contains mineral-rich bentonite that removes environmental toxins and impurities from the skin.

The smell of this mask is strong and horrible. My skin feels super dried out afterwards and I get a burning/tingling sensation when I am applying it probably due to the sulfur, ugh. Positively, It does come off easily and I did get some improvement with my breakouts. If it wasn’t for the added ingredients and smell, I would’ve liked this product a lot more. No reorder for me.

5. Nighttime repair serum with 10% glycolic acid ($29.50) – 10/10

• Product description: Exfoliates dead and damaged skin cells and boosts cell turnover to reveal a more youthful and radiant complexion. Contains a powerful combo of 10% glycolic acid and potent antioxidants to clarify and rejuvenate the skin, restoring elasticity and firmness. Stimulates collagen formation. Lightweight, silky consistency, smoothes on and absorbs quickly.

Everything that the product description described, is true! It has a really nice matte finish, it’s so rejuvenating. This product truly does work better overnight although you can use it during the day too. Overall, I love it and would definitely reorder.

6. SPF 30 Brightening moisturizer ($28.00) – 10/10

Product description: Combines advanced ingredients with broad spectrum sunscreen to visibly improve the look and feel of skin. Nourishing moisturizers and robust antioxidants help restore hydration and radiance while SPF 30 sunscreen guards against UV damage. Vitamin C lies at the heart of our formulation providing brightening corrective properties and counteracting daily oxidative damage.

A sunscreen + moisturizer all in one what more could you ask for! This product has a very smooth consistency not too thick or too watery, it is just right. It’s definitely light weight. I don’t get a dull ashy gray tone after applying it like I would with most sunscreens. Instead, my skin looks supple/hydrated and warm. I love that it has SPF 30 which is the best sunscreen for darker skin tones and it contains vitamin c. Pleasant smell. I love it and will reorder.

7. Overall rating of the clear skin kit = 8/10

• I would recommend Bolden products. I took off two points due to my dislike of the toner and harsh clay mask but everything else was on point. Currently, I’m working on incorporating more natural products back into my skin care routine but I will still continue to use some of Bolden’s as well. Stay tuned for my full skin care routine. 7 Things I learned After High School

It will soon be 8 years since I graduated from high school and I’ve been trying to figure out this thing called life ever since. Today, I’m going to share 7 things that I learned along the way. Please feel free to share to any newly high school graduate you may know.

1.) Realize it’s okay to not have it all figured out yet.

• And that’s completely normal! You have your whole life ahead of you. You’re only as old as you feel and it’s never too late to switch career paths and start something new.

2.) Take a gap year/ Travel often

• This allows you to do some deep soul searching to really figure out what your passions are. If a gap year isn’t something that’ll work for you or if you’re afraid you might get too lazy, this option would not be best. Nonetheless, Traveling is still a must. There’s a whole world out there waiting to be explored!

2.) Community college and workforce career training programs are great options too!

Not to mention, they’re way more affordable. Don’t put yourself in a lifetime of debt trying to go to a 4 year university that you can’t afford. Student loans are a bitch! If you weren’t fortunate enough to earn a full ride scholarship or your parents weren’t able to “send you to college”, please consider this option.

• Apply for grants and financial aid. I would suggest getting your associates degree first, then transfer to a university to get your bachelors degree in order to cut down costs and gain experience faster.

• If you’re simply unsure about your career, pick up a trade and earn a Certification like Medical billing, veterinary tech, automotive tech, etc. This can really help you get your foot in the workforce door quickly and looks great on a resume. Some programs even allow you to earn transferable college credits that you can use towards a degree.

•Remember: make sure whatever career/major you choose, that it’s something you actually want to do. Don’t be ashamed of having to change your major a few times until you figure out what you like, cause I sure as hell did. Just because you come from a family of doctors and lawyers doesn’t mean you have to feel obligated to be one too, just to make them proud. It’s your happiness at stake here. You don’t want to become that person who wakes up every morning hating their job/life because they didn’t follow their passion.

3.) The military

• This option is certainly not for everyone but, the military could provide you some great benefits. Such as, money for school, travel, on-the-job training, medical insurance and a paycheck in exchange for your service.

4.) Find a side hustle or two in addition to having a job.

• It doesn’t hurt to have a little extra cash and something to fall back on. Maybe even get your entrepreneurial ideas out there.

5.) Learn to invest and save your money

• This one is pretty self explanatory. I’m 25 and I’m still struggling with keeping my finances in order. Investing and saving will definitely benefit you in the long run. Being broke happens but staying broke is no bueno, so proper money management is vital. Also, please learn how to do your taxes don’t be out here serving time in jail for unpaid taxes and filing for bankruptcy.

6.) Never stop learning

• Always keep feeding your brain knowledge. Even after you’re done with school still take the time to learn something new. It could be a new language or an online skill course. The sky is the limit. You can never learn too much.

Lastly..

7.) Do what makes you happy and have fun doing it!

• Point. Blank. Period.

Here are a few questions to ask yourself if you’re still undecided:

what really interests me? what am I most passionate about? Where do I see myself in 10 years and how can I get there? Do I really see myself doing this career for the rest of my life? Does this truly make me happy? What can I change and how?

You only get one life, live it on your terms!

Yours truly,

June Favorites

Hey everyone! I hope you are all doing well. We are already half way through the year, wow! For today’s post I want to share some of my favorites from the month of June, in terms of music, entertainment, etc. Enjoy!

Music 🎶

• Everything is Love x The Carters (album)

This album came by surprise to everyone and it’s pure vibes! I’ve probably listened to it everyday since it’s been released and it’s just right for the summer time. I’m so happy they released it to Apple Music and Spotify instead of just Tidal.

“Summer”, “Apeshit” , “Boss” & “Friends” are some of my favorites. If I had to choose my absolute favorite, “Apeshit” is the one! Non-stop twerking, hehe.

• Got Friends x Miguel & Goldlink (song)

I love this collab and would love if they do an entire album together. Their voices mesh perfectly, so eargasmic.

• Scorpion x Drake (Album)

I’m not too impressed with this album as a whole.

“Mob ties” (side a) and “in my feelings” (side b) is the best songs to me. I liked the concept of having Side A & B. Side B would have to be my favorite, it really brought back that good ol’ get-you-in-your-feelings Drake music.

I still can’t believe he actually has a son out here and was able to hide it for so long (listen to “March 14”) And how about that song “Don’t matter to me” with Michael Jackson on it? Interesting.

Books & Magazines 📚

• Soar x TD Jakes

This book was more of an how to start your own business/becoming an entrepreneur book. I expected it to be more spiritually inspirational but nonetheless, it was good.

• Essence Magazine’s June 2018 “men’s” issue

First of all, can we please just take a moment to appreciate the cover photo of Michael B. Jordan! I particularly loved this issue because it talked about how guys really feel about the #metoo movement and keeping black men healthy.

I loved Terry Crew’s interview and believe he is so brave for opening up about his own sexual assault which a lot of guys are very ashamed to talk about. But, unfortunately sexual assault happens to a lot of us and it’s nice seeing a males perspective for once.

Movies 🎥

• Super Fly

This movie was a remake of the original 1972 version. Trevor Jackson starred as Preist in this new version released on June 13, 2018. I’ll admit, I didn’t have high hopes at first because I believe some movies just shouldn’t be remade or have sequels but I really enjoyed this one. It was very entertaining. This street hustler thriller had me on the edge of my seat. Did I mention how foinee Trevor Jackson is?! Good lawd!

• ‘Slasher’ on Netflix (TV Show)

My current not so guilty pleasure, my binge watching obsession. If you like murder mysteries, blood, gore and horror, need I say more?

Food 🍪

•Raspberry cheesecake cookies from Subway

I just now discovered these and so glad I did. Delicious!

Yours truly,

Knowing the Signs

Before anybody comes for me understand that this is my personal interpretation of the horoscope signs based on my experiences. Please do not feel offended if I say something that you don’t like about your sign. This is all in good fun, Mkay? Cool 🙂

Also, I am not an expert in astrology. I just have a strong interest and I observe people and their behaviors very well. So, here we go!

Capricon ♑️ – Dec. 22- Jan. 19, The mountain goat. (🌏 earth sign.)

Very disciplined/responsible, well-grounded, genuinely nice and strong people. They work great under pressure so they usually make the best leaders and managers. They really know how to get shit done and that’s why I like them.

Negatives: I believe they can be a bit of controlling know-it-alls which sometimes make them bossy.

Aquarius ♒️ – Jan. 20- Feb. 18, The man who carries water. (💨 air sign)

Some of my favorite people! I know everyone thinks they’re mean (yes, they can be) but their tempers are usually short-lived and they can move on quick. They are energetic and adventurous, they hate being in boring/dull situations.

When an Aquarius says that they don’t need you, believe them, cause they don’t. They’re very independent people. They always tell it like it is, they keep shit real and they definitely know how to have fun.

Negatives: One thing I do hate is that they lack emotional expression. My mom is an Aquarius and I’ve never seen her cry, like ever!

Pisces ♓️ – Feb. 19- March 20. The fish. ( 💦 water sign)

Unlike Aquarius, Pisces are definitely in-touch with their emotions and very expressive about them. They really respect openness. They’re compassionate, gentle, honest, easy to get along with, creative and romantic. My moon sign is in Pisces so I can relate to them very well.

Moon sign= represents your emotional + physical nature, describes your unconscious, instinctive reactions.

Negatives: They can be a little too trusting- naive.

Aries ♈️ – March. 21- Apr. 19. The ram. ( 🔥 fire sign)

Super humorous, probably the funniest people ever and they love to talk, they have good drive and energy. Super active and dynamic. Never a dull moment.

Did I mention they’re chatty?

Negatives: Very short tempered – the absolute worse temper tantrums I’ve ever seen, impulsive, egotistical, impatient and competitive.

Taurus ♉️ – April. 20- May. 20. The bull. ( 🌏 earth sign)

They can seem very unapproachable at first (mostly the females) but they actually turn out to have nice personalities once they decide to open up to you.

Taurus are brave, laidback/chill, persistent, loving, protective and very private people.

Negatives: They’re too closed off, some need to feel secure and validated all the time, picky, dominating, uncompromising and some tend to lie a lot.

Gemini ♊️ – May. 21- June 20. The Twins. (💨 air sign)

Thoughtful, very eccentric, magnetic as hell and can fit in anywhere, in any social setting. They’re natural communicators, spontaneous and know how to get what they want. True go-getters. Always down for whatever.

Negatives: They can be loud, messy and inconsistent, you never know what you’re gunna get with them (hence, the double personality thing). Some can be very tense and serious too.

Cancer ♋️ – June. 21- July. 22. The crab. ( 💦 water sign)

Some of the best people ever! I know so many of them; my dad, grandparents, my stepfather and more. (I’m the cancer-whisperer at this point, haha). They’re hands down the most dedicated, hardest working people I’ve ever met. Just like Capricons, they know how to get shit done and they usually always have their shit together. They’re the ones with the house, the car and the job.

Super caring, loving, very sympathetic, they will literally do anything for the people they love. They’re patient, forgiving, great conversationalists, great sense of humors, family oriented, resourceful and logical thinkers.

Negatives: Way too damn sensitive. I discovered that the ones born at the end of June tends to be the overly sensitive ones. Also, they can be manipulative, and they’re not into taking many risks.

Leo ♌️ – July. 23-Aug. 22. The lion. ( 🔥 fire sign)

Very passionate people, warm-hearted, goal oriented, ambitious, goofy, fierce, bold, fun and sincere. They’re very sensual, they exude confidence and really big on respect and loyalty. Their personalities can light up any room. My rising sign is in Leo.

Rising sign= The outer you. How you are perceived + your attitude. Also, the person you are becoming/aspiring to be more like.

Negatives: Arrogant, dramatic, materialistic, attention-seekers. They can be aggressive, confrontational and too prideful – they run from anything that makes them feel vulnerable or weak which is annoying as hell when trying to get close to them.

Virgo ♍️ – Aug. 23- Sept. 22. The maiden. ( earth 🌏 sign)

Reliable, nurturing, well organized, smart, kind, loyal, practical, the best listeners, conservative, and observant, you can’t get shit over on them.

Negatives: They’re overachievers so they will rarely ever ask for help even when they really need it. Worrisome, fussy, skeptical about everything, judgmental and overly critical of themselves/others.

Libra ♎️ – Sept. 23- Oct. 22. The scales. (💨 air sign)

I was born on September 29th, 1993!! Libra is my sun sign.

Sun sign= Your zodiac personality. The inner, most truest you.

Libra represents balance. Like, why wouldn’t you want a Libra in your life? 😉 Okay, okay, let me stay on track here.

Libras are social butterflies, fair minded, free spirited, romantic, charming, peaceful, the kindest people you’ll ever meet, artistic, empathetic, known as the problem solvers- diplomatic types, we’re really big on justice and equality, we make great lovers as we are deeply connected to our sexuality.

Mental stimuli and intellect is very important or you will lose our interest real fast. We can literally get along with anyone as it’s easy for us to find the goodness in people.

Negatives: I hate that we’re sooo damn indecisive, only cause we rely so much on mental + visual stimuli to make our decisions. We can be stubborn, once we make our minds up there’s absolutely no changing it. We’re moody sometimes but people would never know from our calm demeanors, we don’t handle criticism very well, we’re defensive but we always try to avoid confrontation even when it’s needed.

Scorpio ♏️ – Oct. 23- Nov. 21. The scorpion. ( 💦 water sign)

Very sexual beings. They are super affectionate, loyal, magnetic, funny, talkative, entertaining, quick witted and can make the best of friends/ride or die types. Friendship is very important to them, usually always have a big circle of friends.

Negatives: highly obsessive, controlling, jealous and violent tendencies.

Sagittarius ♐️ – Nov. 22- Dec. 21. The centaur. ( 🔥 fire sign)

Friendly, generous, open-minded, highly curious and fun folks. They’re playful and very optimistic. Always seem to be in good spirits.

Negatives: impatient and a bit superficial.

Whew, we’ve finally reached the end.

Ha! I hope you all enjoyed this nice long post.

Till next time.

My Summer 2018 Bucketlist

Hey, boo’s. I’m back! I know this post is long over due (2 months and 10 days to be exact but who’s keeping count, right?) I’ve been super busy with life and stuff. I’m here now so let’s jump right into it. Since summer is right upon us, literally, I thought this would be the perfect time to create my own summer 2018 Bucketlist after being inspired by https://beautiful-inspiring-creative-life.com/ and I actually had a lot of fun creating this!

Supplies I used:

Colored pencils, sharpies, scissors, tape, pen & a pencil

I also clipped out pictures from Essence magazine using the April & May 2018 issues where I found a ton of inspo!

Here’s my finished project:

1.) Carnival

• One thing you will soon learn about me is that I love Caribbean culture, food & music (especially Soca music!) . The Baltimore/DC One Carnival is a must for me! I go just about every year since I was a kid. It’s a two-day event; July 14-15th.

• The West Indies Labor Day Parade is another popular Carnival that I never attended before but I would really like to.

•Attend the Maryland State Fair and/or York Fair

2.) Festivals

What’s summer time without the festivals?!

• Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Fest in National Harbor, MD Get tix here! (Lots of other locations too)

• R&B/Neo-Soul Wine Festival in Westminster, MD Get tix here!

• Chesapeake Bay Reggae Festival in Hampton, VA

• Latino Fest in Baltimore, MD

• Afropunk Festival in Brooklyn, NY Get tix here!

• Dreamville Festival in NC . I loveee J.Cole and I can’t wait to see him live! Get tix here!

• Baltimore Pride parade &/or festival

• Trifecta Food Truck Festival in Timonium, MD Get tix here!

• Baltimore Artscape

• Collective Minds (House Music) Festival in Baltimore or the DMV house music fest in DC (no dates released yet but they’re both usually during Labor Day weekend)

• Carifesta DC (no date has been released yet)

3.) Parties & Events

• The hip-hop club scene isn’t really my thing. I do enjoy a nice day party, house music parties, ‘R&B only’ events or a strictly reggae/soca parties.

• My job is sending me to a seminar on how to communicate with tact and diplomacy. Should be interesting.

• My grandma will be turning the big 70 this summer, so ya know it’s gonna be a celebration!

• I donated to ‘Walking to Cure Diabetes’ which is a 2mile walk/run dedicated to bringing awareness to diabetes. My dad recently got diagnosed so supporting this cause definitely means a lot to me. Donate here!

•Other events to do/attend: zoo, aquarium, visit an art museum, go to sixflags, attend my annual family reunion.

•Capture more memories, go to a drive-in cinema, read a good book or two (currently reading Soar’ by: TD Jakes), roller skating, biking, make a new friend, attend a sip & paint event, and try a soca fitness class.

4.) Good Eats

This summer I want to get serious with eating clean. I workout with a personal trainer but a healthy diet is also important to maintain if I want faster and better results so it’s going to be all about meal prepping and fruit & veggie smoothies.

• Next, I want to try out Thai & Ethiopian food.

Most specifically, I want to try “Buna”- an Ethiopian style coffee:

“key wat”- a spicy Ethiopian beef stew:

and “doro wat”- a spiced Ethiopian chicken stew:

Thai rolled ice cream:

• Explore vegan options (one vegan restaurant I have my eye on is called: ‘Breaking Bread’ that happens to be a black owned family restaurant in Baltimore)

Visit my brothers coffee shop: ‘Nubohemia’ in downtown Baltimore. If you want a good cup of coffee, love art & good music..this is the place for you. Events and parties are also held here. Check out Nubohemia!

• Lastly, check out R.House (a huge warehouse in Baltimore with a dozen of restaurants inside) mostly for their brunch spots. Check it out here!

5.) Travel

I’m really looking forward to:

• My family trip to Miami.

• Having a beach day, maybe in Ocean City, MD.

• Weekend getaway to Jacksonville, FL

Going to Raleigh,NC for the DreamVille fest.

• Visiting New York for Afropunk Fest & the West Indies Parade.

6.) Beauty

• I’ve been transitioning back to natural for a little over 2 years now & I’ve been protective stylin’ it up and I really want to give my hair a break from Braids (maybe even for good).

A deep curly wig will be my go-to. Simply put it on and take it right off at the end of the day! Here’s an idea of what I want:

• Save money by doing my own nails/manis (I’m leaving the pedicures up to the professionals though), try brow tinting by: The Loft, have my lashes slayed by: My Lash Gal and purchase some cute head wraps. Check out these beautiful wraps!

• I’m not that into makeup but I like a nice lippie from time to time, so ‘Fenty Beauty’ can just have all my damn coins! ‘Stunna Lip Paint’ and the ‘Plush Matte Lipstick: Full Collection’ I’m coming for ya!

• For my new skincare necessities: ‘NolaSkin Essentials’ is IT! I’ve been seeing ads all over my IG and Facebook for this company. Their products are all natural, vegan and cruelty free suited for all skin types so I’m excited to try them out and give a review on them. Get Your Skin Essentials!

•While reading through Essence magazine, I came across LoveCollins, a business that sells some really pretty sunglasses/accessories and they’re also affordable! Here are all the pairs I fell in love with:

7.) Ways to Slayyyy

I can’t forget: self care. It’s very easy for me to become drained after constantly being out and about and surrounded by people, so I will most def remember to take as many mental breaks that I need in order to recharge.

• Spend less time on social media. Just put the damn phone down!

• Go thrifting for some cool vintage clothing pieces.

• Get a new tattoo and piercing. I really want a serotonin tattoo to symbolize mental health/depression.

• Try to blog more before I start classes again in the Fall.

• Lastly, JUST HAVE SOME DAMN FUN!! 😜

Feel free to comment what your summer plans are and to let me know if you’ll be attending or doing any of the activities I listed above 🙂

Xoxo,
